What is Social Saturday?
In general at Galway Community Café, we provide the space for people to have one-to-one conversations with our staff. On Saturdays, we offer an alternative option called Social Saturdays, where we provide the space for individuals to engage in group activities in a safe environment. Activities range from recovery-orientated skills, board games, social space to meet others, and structured groups.
Please Note: Social Saturdays are not an appropriate space to seek support, they are a social space to engage in activities with other individuals. Should you wish to have a one-to-one support, you can book a space to chat with a member of our staff here.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I have a private conversation with a staff member during a Social Saturday?
No, unfortunately we cannot provide a safe, confidential space for you to have a chat with a staff member while a Social Saturday activity takes place. However, staff can arrange an alternative time for you to have a one-to-one chat with us on another day, or later that evening.
Do I need to let you know if I am attending?
Our capacity on a Social Saturday is limited, so you can let us know you are coming by booking a space here or by letting a member of staff know you intend to come in by phone on 087-1085134, or if you are in for a one-to-one you can let us know then aswell!
Can I bring my own games/ideas for activities?
We have no problem with you bringing your own games should they be suitable/appropriate. However, Galway Community Café takes no responsibility for your items and you would be responsible for ensuring you take them with you.
We are also happy to take suggestions for activities!
